I CAN, I WILL
Our goal is to increase the children’s learning and improve their school results. In doing so, we give them a stronger armor for adulthood. Our staff has been present for almost 10 years, and since we started, the children’s school results have gradually improved significantly.
We work with about 25 children in the orphanage who have special needs and need extra support and adult attendance. The children do not have the opportunity to follow the ordinary schooling. Some attend special schools and some read a simpler program. Some of the children go to special schools and require special assistance, and may always need special assistance. Other children have no assistive difficulties and with our help have been able to develop mentally, mentally and socially and can begin and pursue ordinary schooling.
Each child in the group has one hour with our staff per day. We have seen that the children express great joy and enthusiasm about getting the focus of an adult individual who meets them as individuals, takes the time to see, listen, give advice and discuss. The conversations mean that the employees can help the children with the school results based on their own needs, but also provide a place to express their thoughts and thoughts about life.
We see that our method not only gave the children significantly better school results, but also a stronger integrity and individual feeling is difficult to get when the children grow up in a group.
A strong self-esteem and education, we believe, increase the children’s opportunities to cope with life that begins when they leave the orphanage. We have been pleased to see that the oldest children we have followed for the past 10 years have been able to get work when they leave the orphanage.
Throughout our presence at the orphanage, we have collaborated with the orphanage staff. We have premises in the orphanage’s building that are dedicated to our business, the so-called. The “living room” where all our business takes place. We want to act as support to the orphanage’s staff and help where the resources are insufficient. Successfully, a collaboration with the school has also been developed. We will, from autumn 2019, participate in the school’s team around individual children.
We call our regular business “I can, I will.”
